Resurfacing has been completed on Whitmore Lake Rd between Joy Rd and N. Territorial Rd in Northfield Township!
Over the weekend, the contractor was able to finish paving the new road surface. All restrictions have been lifted. Next steps are placing aggregate shoulders and pavement markings. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will send out updates as the project progresses.
As a heads up, N. Territorial Rd between Hellner Rd and Whitmore Lake Rd in Northfield Township is currently being resurfaced. The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane closures. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

Over the past few days, the contractor was able to mill the existing surface of the road. Currently, the contractor is paving the new road surface. We expect to complete paving by next week. WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Monday, July 17, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a resurfacing project on Whitmore Lake Rd between Joy Rd and N. Territorial Rd in Northfield Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions and a flagging operation. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The road improvements are expected to take approximately three weeks. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Traffic signals will be impacted by this work.
