WHY: Shoulder placement
BACKGROUND: On Monday, May 2, 2022, contractors for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Pleasant Lake Rd between Sharon Hollow Rd and Smythe Rd in Sharon Township. Our contractors will be placing the new road shoulders following the road resurfacing. Placing road shoulders is the last phase of this project.
The road will reopen at the end of each day and remain open until work resumes the following morning.
The work is expected to take approximately two days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Access will be maintained for school buses, emergency responders and people who live or work within the work zone.

WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: Starting on Monday, April 18, 2022, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a road resurfacing project on Pleasant Lake Rd between Sharon Hollow Rd and Smythe Rd in Sharon Township. For the past week, WCRC crews have been making drainage improvements ahead of this road resurfacing project.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane closures. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The road resurfacing is expected to take approximately 2 weeks. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

The road will reopen at the end of each day and remain open until work resumes the following morning.
The work is expected to take approximately one week to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Access will be maintained for residents and property owners who live or work within the work zone.
