Latest Updates

March 3, 2023 Project Update: Heads up, construction is soon underway!

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC), in partnership with Pittsfield Township, will begin construction on the long-awaited Platt Rd Greenway II Pathway Project between Wall Park and Waterfowl Blvd in Pittsfield Township in spring 2023. This project is funded by Pittsfield Township and a federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant, which is administered by WCRC.

In the coming weeks, a contractor for WCRC will begin to place temporary construction signs and perform minor brush clearing for the planned pathway. However, construction activities are limited due to the current weight restrictions that are in place in Washtenaw County. Once the weather allows and restrictions are lifted, the contractor will begin full construction of this non-motorized pathway. Motorists can expect to see intermittent lane restrictions on Platt Rd in the coming weeks. WCRC will send additional updates as the project progresses.
