July 12, 2023 Project Update: Construction Is Progressing

Construction on the N. Territorial Rd bridge, over the Huron River, between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Huron River Dr in Dexter Township, is making progress!  

Last week, the remaining concrete pavement repairs near the N. Territorial Rd bridge were completed. This week, the contractor began cleaning and prepping the bridge deck surface for the epoxy application. The contactor expects to complete the epoxy overlay by the end of this week.  

During this work, traffic will be maintained in both directions using a temporary signal. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses. Please be aware that all dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and contractor scheduling.

July 10, 2023 Lane Restrictions: N. Territorial Rd Bridge (Dexter Twp)

WHERE: N. Territorial Rd bridge, over the Huron River, between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Huron River Dr in Dexter Township

WHY: Pathway & bridge preventative maintenance

BACKGROUND: On Monday, July 10, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin an epoxy overlay on the N. Territorial Rd bridge, over the Huron River, between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Huron River Dr in Dexter Township.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. Traffic will be maintained in both directions using a temporary signal. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The road improvements are expected to take approximately one week. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

The pedestrian pathway will be fully closed during this work.

June 28, 2023 Project Update: Construction Is Moving Along

Construction is moving along on the preventative maintenance project that is taking place on the N. Territorial Rd bridge, over the Huron River, between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Huron River Dr in Dexter Township.  

The concrete repairs on the N. Territorial Rd bridge barrier have been completed. The remaining repairs throughout the bridge will continue following the July 4th holiday.  This work includes concrete pavement repairs followed by the application of the epoxy coating to the bridge deck surface. During these repairs, one-way traffic will be maintained using temporary signals.  

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.

June 12, 2023 Project Update: Construction Is Going Well!

The preventative maintenance on the N. Territorial Rd bridge, over the Huron River, between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Huron River Dr in Dexter Township is going well.

Concrete repairs on the pathway railing along the bridge are ongoing. During this work, the pathway along the bridge will remain closed. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) expects the pathway to be closed for approximately one week.

WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.
