July 19, 2023 Project Update: Making Progress!

Construction is advancing on the Barker Rd & Main St resurfacing project in Northfield Township!

Recently, the contractor milled the existing surface of Main St between E. Shore Dr and 8 Mile Rd. Currently, crews are paving the southbound lane of Main St and expect to complete paving the northbound lane within the next few days. Once paving is completed, our crews will perform necessary drainage work and the contractor will return to place pavement markings.

The contractor just finished milling the existing surface of Barker Rd between the Railroad tracks and Main St. Crews working on Barker Rd will begin paving the new road surface soon. Once this work is complete, our crews will perform necessary drainage work and the contractor will return to placing pavement markings.

Please be advised that all dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and contractor scheduling. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to update the project as it progresses.
