WHY: Bridge preventative maintenance
BACKGROUND: During the week of July 17, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will perform an epoxy overlay on the Main St bridge deck, over Mill Creek, between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Jeffords St in the City of Dexter.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions and a traffic pattern shift. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
Pedestrians can expect sidewalk restrictions during the bridge work. All dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Heads up City of Dexter! The preventative maintenance work taking place on the Main St Bridge, over Mill Creek, between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Jeffords St is going smoothly.
The concrete repairs have been completed on the bridge approach. The concrete will now cure for a minimum of 28 days and restrictions will be lifted. While the concrete cures, the bridge will be open to traffic and restrictions will be lifted.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.

WHY: Bridge maintenance work
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a bridge maintenance project on the Main St bridge, over Mill Creek, between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Jeffords St in the City of Dexter.
Motorists can expect a traffic pattern shift in both directions during the bridge work. The road will remain open. However, motorists and pedestrians can expect lane and sidewalk restrictions during the bridge work for approximately 11 days. This project will not be active during summer holidays and is not expected to overlap with the Parker Rd Culvert Replacement project. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
