August 31, 2023 Project Update: Project Complete!

Our resurfacing project on Huron River Dr between Clark Rd and the Dixboro Rd bridge in Ann Arbor & Superior Townships is complete!  

All traffic restrictions were lifted on Friday, August 25, and pavement markings were placed on Tuesday, August 29. Remaining, is minor shoulder work that will be completed in the coming weeks. This work will not impact traffic.

August 23, 2023 Project Update: Going Smoothly

Our resurfacing project on Huron River Dr, between Clark Rd and the Dixboro Rd bridge in Ann Arbor & Superior Townships, is going smoothly.  

Yesterday, the contractor was able to complete milling operations and make progress with paving. Today and through tonight, the contractor will be working to complete paving operations. Next steps are placing pavement markings, aggregate/stone shoulders and addressing concrete structures.  

As a reminder, traffic is being maintained in both directions under lane restrictions. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses. August 21, 2023 Project Update: Quickly Making Progress!

Our resurfacing project on Huron River Dr, between Clark Rd and the Dixboro Rd bridge in Ann Arbor & Superior Townships, is quickly making progress!  

Today, the contractor was able to mill the existing surface of the roadway and expects to begin paving operations later this evening. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will send out updates as the project progresses.

WHERE: Huron River Dr between McAuley Dr and Dixboro Rd bridge in Ann Arbor & Superior Townships

WHY: Road resurfacing

BACKGROUND: On Monday, August 21, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a resurfacing project on Huron River Dr between McAuley Dr and Dixboro Rd bridge in Ann Arbor & Superior Townships.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The road improvements are expected to take approximately two days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Milling operations will take place during the day and paving operations will take place during nighttime hours to minimize traffic impacts.

April 26, 2023 Project Update: Construction Starting Soon!

During the 2023 construction season, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to resurface Huron River Dr between Clark Rd and the Dixboro Rd Bridge in Ann Arbor and Superior Townships. The exact start date of the construction is still yet to be determined. During construction, traffic will be maintained on Huron River Dr using lane restrictions and a flagging operation for approximately two weeks, weather pending.

WHY: The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will hold a virtual project information meeting regarding the planned resurfacing project on Huron River Drive, between McAuley Dr and the Dixboro Rd Bridge in Ann Arbor and Superior Townships.

During construction, Huron River Dr will be maintained using lane restrictions and a flagging operation. The restrictions are expected to be in place for two weeks, weather pending.

The virtual public meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. There will be a brief presentation followed by time for questions from the audience. A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project web page after the meeting.
