June 29, 2023 Project Update: Nearly Complete!

Great news Ypsilanti Township! The Holmes Rd resurfacing project, between Prospect Rd and Ford Blvd, is nearly complete.

Resurfacing was completed on Monday, June 26, and traffic restrictions are expected to be removed within the next couple of days. Next steps are completing concrete work and placing pavement markings. The timeframe for this work is still yet to be determined. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.

WHERE: Holmes Rd between Prospect Rd and Ford Blvd in Ypsilanti Township

WHY: Road resurfacing

BACKGROUND: On Thursday, June 22, 2023, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a resurfacing project on Holmes Rd between Prospect Rd and Ford Blvd in Ypsilanti Township.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The road improvements are expected to take approximately eight days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions and contractor scheduling.
