Work Stoppage Impacts Mast Road Project

By September 4, 2018Project Updates

As of 7 a.m. this morning, many projects on county roads in Washtenaw County are on hold due to a labor dispute between the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA) and the Operating Engineer’s Local 324. The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) is not a party to these negotiations.

This work stoppage halts all paving, and some earthwork and underground work done by contractors on county roads.

For the Mast Road culvert replacement project, paving will be delayed until this labor dispute has ended. The road cannot be reopened to traffic until the paving has been completed and the guardrail has been installed.

Please contact Brent Schlack, project manager, if you have any questions – [email protected] or (734) 327-6670.
