Full Closure with Detour
Over the last 3 weeks, the contractor completed the bridge removal, completed the cofferdam installation for the south bridge foundation, excavated soil within the cofferdam and began driving the foundation piling necessary for structural support of the bridge.
Since we closed the road on July 5, the contractor has begun to remove the existing bridge. One of the next major steps will be to install the cofferdam (steel sheeting enclosure to keep water out of the work area) in preparation of constructing the bridge foundation. Please remember this is a construction work zone and only authorized personnel are permitted in the work zone for safety reasons.
On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, a Contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will CLOSE Ridge Road between Hack Road and Arkona Road in York Township in order to replace the bridge over Macon Creek.
The road will be closed to all traffic during the bridge replacement project. The WCRC expects the work to be complete in mid-October 2017. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.
The posted DETOUR for this closure is Clinton-Macon Rd, Britton Hwy, Hack Rd, Goodrich Rd, Arkona Rd, Jordan Rd, Macon Rd, US-12, Saline-Milan Rd, Stony Creek Rd and Mooreville Rd. Local traffic to and from adjacent properties located within the closed section of Ridge Road will be maintained, but no traffic will be able to cross the bridge itself.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will hold a Public Information Meeting regarding the bridge replacement project located on Ridge Road over Macon Creek, located between Arkona Road and Hack Road in York Township. The public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 6 pm at the York Charter Township Hall, 11560 Stony Creek Rd in Milan, MI.
