Survey Crew

The Survey Section performs a variety of support services for the Washtenaw County Road Commission as well as participating in survey related programs with Washtenaw County, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and the National Geodetic Survey. These support services include construction staking of road improvement projects, topographic mapping for use in the design of future road improvement projects, drainage surveys, horizontal, vertical, and alignment control surveys in relation to the Public Land Survey System and the Michigan State Plane Coordinate System, Right of Way staking in determination of traffic control devices, utility relocations, and encroachments, maintenance of historic records, and preservation of survey monuments.

Inquiries
The survey section responds to public and consultant inquiries regarding: Existing Right of Way Information, Benchmarks, Alignments, Abandonments of Road Right of Way, and Remonumentation.
Remonumentation
The Survey Supervisor acts as the County Representation for the Washtenaw County Remonumentation Program.
Abandonment
The Survey Supervisor administers requests for Road Right of Way Abandonments.
Legal Descriptions
The Survey Section is responsible for reviewing drawings and legal description documents prepared for Road Right of Way Acquisitions.
