About Construction
The primary focus of the Construction Section is managing activities related to the reconstruction of roads and bridges under Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) jurisdiction. These construction activities are monitored to assure compliance with currently accepted construction standards, thereby increasing the longevity of our transportation system. The items of work necessary to complete an ongoing road or bridge project are measured and payment is subsequently authorized.
The Construction Section also is responsible for the inspection of all bridges and culverts on the county road system and management of the WCRC Bridge Program. (For more information on bridges, visit our Current Bridge Activity webpage.)
The Construction staff works closely with state and local
government agencies, project contractors, utility providers, and
area residents and businesses, relying on the support provided by
our WCRC counterparts, to assure the successful completion of
these projects.
