Case Road Culvert
-
General Information The Case Road Culvert over the Saline and Bridgewater Drains is located between Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Case Road in Sections 19 and 30 of Saline Township. The original structure (circa 1950s/60s) was also a culvert.
Background
On July 18, 2007, the Washtenaw County Road Commission CLOSED a segment of Case Road following a routine inspection of an old culvert located between Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Willow Road in Sections 19 and 30 of Saline Township. Bridge and culvert inspections routinely occur every two years; the inspection of the old culvert on Case Road revealed severe deterioration, which forced the Road Commission to impose a road closure due to the failed condition of the culvert.
