Road Closure: Bemis Road (York and Pittsfield Townships)

WHEN: Starting Wednesday, September 26, 2018

WHERE: Bemis Road between Fosdick Road and Warner Road on the border of York and Pittsfield Townships.

WHY: Culvert replacement

BACKGROUND:  On Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at approximately 8 a.m., the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Bemis Road between Fosdick Road and Warner Road on the border of York and Pittsfield Townships to replace the temporary culvert installed last winter.

The road will be closed to all through traffic. Residents and property owners, who live or work within the work zone, will be provided access to their property, but no traffic will be able to cross the culvert location itself.

The road work is expected to take approximately two weeks. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions and other circumstances.

The intersection of Moon Road and Bemis Road remains closed to all traffic as WCRC works to install a roundabout. The roundabout project should be completed in mid-October.

DETOUR: The posted detour for Bemis Road will be Platt Road to Michigan Avenue (U.S. 12) to South Industrial Road.

CONTACT:  If you have any questions concerning this road closure, please contact Kenneth Harris, assistant superintendent of maintenance, at (734) 327-6696, or via email at harrisk@wcroads.org.
