This project is located on Parkwood Avenue between Ecorse Road and Glenwood Avenue in Section 10 of Ypsilanti Township, Washtenaw County. The project consist of installation of 7 bituminous or concrete speed humps, speed hump pavement markings, restoration, and all other related work as set forth in the bid documents.
Prospective bidders shall conform to the Michigan Department of Transportation prequalification requirements. All subcontractors shall be required to meet the prequalification class of the particular items that they will be working on as part of these projects.
Proposals, bid forms and other information will be available starting Tuesday October 9, 2012 on the Bids/RFPs link of the Washtenaw County Road Commission Website (http://wcroads.org/news/bids.htm).
A certified check or bidder’s bond in the sum of not less than five (5%) of the base bid price is required by the instructions to bidders. Bids shall be completed on the provided form(s). Bids shall be signed by an authorized agent of the bidder and submitted in a sealed envelope that is plainly marked on the outside as to the contents. Bids failing to meet these requirements will not be considered. Bids cannot be submitted by telephone or fax.
The WCRC, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 200d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, height, weight, or veteran status, except as allowed by the need for bona fide occupational qualifications in consideration for an award.
The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of the same; to waive irregularities and/or informalities and to make the award in part or entirety as may appear to be in the best interest of the County of Washtenaw.
