Why:

Golfside Road Improvement Project

Background:

On Tuesday September 4, 2012 the Golfside Road Improvement project Phase II will resume with LANE CLOSURES being imposed on Golfside Road between Packard Road and Clark Road.  The work will also involve intermittent lane closures on M-17 at the Golfside Road intersection. The remaining work to be completed includes the rehabilitation of a YCUA sanitary force main, the construction of pedestrian refuge islands or mid-block crossings and the resurfacing of the roadway. The resurfacing of the roadway involves converting the lane configuration from 4 lanes (2 lanes in each direction) to three lanes (one lane in each direction, center left turn lane, and bike lanes). A minimum of one lane in each direction will be maintained, but delays are expected during construction. Access for residents, businesses and deliveries will be maintained.  However, motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

Please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone in order to maintain the safety of the road crews and the traveling public. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these improvements are completed.
