The following intersections, under the authority of the Washtenaw County Road Commission and the Michigan Department of Transportation, are programmed for construction of a modern roundabout:
Future Modern Roundabout Projects
Geddes Road at Superior Road
- Superior Charter Township
- Year Programmed for Construction: 2008
- The existing ‘Y’ intersection will be converted to a modern roundabout using various sources of federal and state funds. The Washtenaw County Road Commission will construct the project.
Whittaker Road at Stony Creek Road
- Charter Township of Ypsilanti
- Year Programmed for Construction: 2009
- The existing intersection will be converted to a modern roundabout using various funding sources. The project will be constructed by the Washtenaw County Road Commission.
The following list of intersections under the authority of the Washtenaw County Road Commission are planned to have modern roundabouts constructed in the future. There is no timetable as to when these projects will occur:
Westphalian Road / Westchester Farm Condominiums
- Sylvan Township
- Construction will be performed by Norfolk Development Corporation under permits from the Washtenaw County Road Commission. A new collector road named Westphalian Drive will have two modern roundabouts present once opened to traffic.
