Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission has scheduled the CLOSURE of the Dexter-Pinckney Road Bridge over the Portage Lake Canal, located north of McGregor Road in Section 2 of Dexter Township, beginning on Monday, March 15, 2010. This closure will facilitate the construction of a new bridge and associated road improvements. The closure is expected to last into late-August 2010.
During the closure period a signed detour will be in place directing motorists to use McGregor Road and M-36 as the alternate route.
Access for local traffic on Dexter-Pinckney Road, to the north and south of the bridge location, will be maintained during the closure. However, there will be no through traffic allowed across the bridge.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has been advised and will be providing additional enforcement activities in the area. The Washtenaw County Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as we undertake this bridge replacement project.
