What: Short-Duration Traffic Delays
When: Week of June 21, 2010
Where: Milan-Oakville Road
Why: Asphalt Cold-Milling / Paving
Background
The reconstruction and widening of Milan-Oakville Road was completed in October 2009. In March 2010 the Washtenaw County Road Commission identified two sections in the eastbound lane of the new asphalt roadway exhibiting surface defects.
The first section is located 0.5-mile east of the Sanford Road intersection. The second section is located 500-feet east of the Gooding Road intersection. Each section is approximately 100-feet in length.
Asphalt cold-milling and paving will commence in these two sections during the week of June 21, 2010. The work is expected to take only one day. Two-way traffic will be maintained with flagging operations.
The sections were reviewed and discussed with the asphalt paving contractor. The corrective work will entail removal (cold-milling) and replacement (paving). This work will be completed at the contractor’s expense.
Motorists traveling on Milan-Oakville Road should use caution and be aware of the personnel and equipment working on and near the roadway. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as the above noted areas of pavement are corrected.
