Why: Construction Start / Intersection Safety Improvement
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. have scheduled the start of construction operations at the Pleasant Lake Road at Sharon Hollow Road intersection for Monday, July 19, 2010. The improvements to be made at the intersection include the crushing and shaping of the existing asphalt surface, hot mix asphalt paving and shoulder widening.
To safely and efficiently complete this construction, the intersection will be CLOSED on the morning of Monday, July 19, 2010. The intersection is expected to be reopened by the end of the day on Monday, July 26, 2010. The installation of permanent signs and restoration of the site will subsequently be completed under traffic.
NO TRAFFIC will be allowed through the intersection during the above noted closure.
Portable electronic message signs will be installed on Pleasant Lake Road and Sharon Hollow Road this week inform passing motorists of the impending road closure. Temporary construction and detour signs will also be installed this week. The signed DETOUR route in effect during the closure will follow Austin Road and M-52.
Emergency services providers, including the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, have been advised. The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. thank you in advance for your patience as we undertake these improvements.
