Posted on August 6, 2010

What: Traffic Restrictions

When: Starting Monday, August 9, 2010

Where: Carpenter Road and Willis Road Intersection in York Twp

Why: Intersection Construction

Background

On Monday, August 9, 2010, the Washtenaw County Road Commission and Florence Cement Company will begin construction on the Carpenter Road and Willis Road intersection project located in York Township.  At this time, Carpenter Road and Willis Road will remain open to traffic.  However, construction activities may RESTRICT TRAFFIC to one-way operations under flag control in order to complete the required activity and for the safety of motorists and workers.  During these times, long delays are expected.

The intersection project consists of constructing center, left-turn lanes on each leg of the intersection, a right-turn lane on the west leg of the intersection and installation of a traffic signal.

Please be advised that the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department has been notified and will be providing enforcement activities to help provide a safe environment for the road workers and motorists alike.  Finally, the Road Commission thanks you for your patience and cooperation as we undertake this construction project.
