Hitchingham Road Closure

Posted on October 15, 2009

What: Road Closure

When: Beginning the week of October 19, 2009

Where: Hitchingham Road between Stony Creek Road and Textile Road

Why: Road Improvements

Background

Starting the week of October 19, 2009, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will CLOSE Hitchingham Road between Stony Creek Road and Textile Road in Ypsilanti Township to perform road reconstruction and paving.  Local traffic to and from adjacent properties along the closed section of Hitchingham Road will be maintained.  All work is being completed by the Road Commission in partnership with Ypsilanti Township, and the road improvements are expected to be completed by Friday, November 6, 2009.  However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

To ensure the safety of roads crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of the construction activities, including personnel and equipment, and reduce speeds accordingly.  During the placement of hot asphalt, pedestrians and bicyclists should keep clear of the area; burns are possible from contact with hot asphalt.

The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience during this road improvement project.
