Posted on November 6, 2009

What: ROAD REOPENING

When: Thursday, November 05, 2009

Where: Milan-Oakville Road, Milan City limits to Gooding Road

Why: Roadway Construction

Background

Milan-Oakville Road, between the Milan City limits and Gooding Road, was reopened to through traffic at the end of the workday today, Thursday, November 5, 2009.

Construction activities including the installation of driveway approaches, guardrail installation, restoration and miscellaneous items remain to be completed.  These activities will continue into next week and will be completed under traffic.  Flagging operations will be in place as needed to maintain two-way traffic.

The collection of the numerous temporary detour and construction signs, barricades and plastic drums will be ongoing over the next few days.

Motorists traveling on Milan-Oakville Road should use caution and be aware of the construction personnel and equipment working on site. Speeds will continue to be monitored to ensure the safety of motorists and construction crews.

Work completed over the past four months included the reconstruction and widening of Milan-Oakville Road, concrete curb and gutter construction, and drainage improvements including storm sewer construction and the installation of a new concrete box culvert at the Falk Drain.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission very much appreciates the patience and cooperation of the local residents, businesses and motorists during these improvements.
