What: Jackson Road Reopening

When: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Where: Jackson Road between Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and Dino Drive in Scio Township including the Jackson Road / Baker Road Intersection

Why: Completion of Road Construction Activities

Background

On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 the Washtenaw County Road Commission and Dan’s Excavating, Inc. will OPEN the Jackson Road boulevard between Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and Dino Drive to two-lanes of traffic in each direction.  In addition, the dual, southbound left-turn lanes on Baker Road at Jackson Road will be opened and made fully operational.

While the Jackson Road project is substantially complete, landscaping activities will continue for approximately two weeks requiring periodic closure of crossovers.  In addition, minor restoration activities will occur in Spring 2010 which may require short-term lane and / or crossover closures.  Access to all businesses will be maintained through the use of adjacent crossovers.

Please be advised that the posted speed limit within the project limits will be restored to 50 mph.  Throughout construction, the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department has provided ongoing enforcement activities to help provide a safe environment for the road workers and motorists alike.

Finally, the Road Commission thanks you for the patience and cooperation demonstrated throughout the two-year duration of the Jackson Road project.
