When: Monday, July 20, 2009
Where: Plymouth Road @ Gotfredson Road, Superior Township
Why: Construction Start / CLOSURE (Gotfredson Road south of Plymouth Road)
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. have scheduled the start of construction operations at the Plymouth Road @ Gotfredson Road intersection for Monday, July 20, 2009. The improvements to be made at the intersection include the addition of left-turn lanes and a traffic signal. Related work will include storm sewer installation, concrete curb and gutter construction and hot mix asphalt paving.
To accommodate the above noted improvements, Gotfredson Road south of Plymouth Road will be CLOSED on Monday, July 20, 2009. During the closure a signed detour route will be in place directing motorists along Plymouth Road, Warren Road and Berry Road. Gotfredson Road south of Plymouth Road is expected to be open to traffic in early-September.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed in late-September.
To maintain the safety of road crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of construction equipment and personnel and reduce speeds accordingly. The posted speed limit on Plymouth Road and Gotfredson Road will be reduced to 45 mph for the duration of construction. The Washtenaw County Road Commission and Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. thank you in advance for your patience as we undertake these improvements.
