What: Partial ROAD CLOSURE / Roadway Construction
When: Friday, August 21, 2009
Where: Milan-Oakville Road, approximately 1000-feet west of Gooding Road
Why: ROAD CLOSURE
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission has completely CLOSED a section of Milan-Oakville Road, located approximately 1000-feet west of the Gooding Road intersection. The closure has been necessitated by the unstable condition of the roadway, which is currently being reconstructed. No traffic will be allowed through the section of Milan-Oakville Road that is currently barricaded.
Residents to the east and west of the above noted closure are advised to seek an alternate route. Emergency services have been advised of this closure. The road construction activities in this area, including the placement of sand subbase and aggregate base, will be expedited to allow the reopening of the roadway as soon as possible.
Construction activities on Milan-Oakville Road, extending from the Milan City limits to ½ mile east of Gooding Road, are ongoing. Only those motorists traveling to addresses within the construction zone should be using Milan-Oakville Road. All other motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes.
AUTOMOBILE DETOUR ROUTE (cars, pickups, motorcycles, etc.) Whittaker Road, Willow Road, Carpenter Road
TRUCK DETOUR ROUTE Wanty Road, Darling Road, Plank Road
The Washtenaw County Road Commission appreciates the patience and cooperation shown by the residents, businesses and motorists in the area as we continue this road improvement project.
