Background
Construction of the new concrete curb and gutter along the south side of Holmes Road, between Rue Deauville and Ford Boulevard, is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 8th. Weather permitting, the south side curb and gutter placement is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 9th. To attain sufficient strength to carry vehicle loads, the newly placed concrete curb and gutter will require curing time, typically three to five (3-5) days.
Dan’s Excavating, the project prime contractor, has requested that south side residents park vehicles along the newly constructed north side curb or on a side street during the placement and curing of the south side curb. Vehicles should be parked along the north side of Holmes Road or on a side street no later than 7 AM on July 8th to avoid complications. Your cooperation in this regard will aid us in expediting the construction of the south side curb line.
Access for north side residents has been maintained during the curb and gutter construction. However, due to the limited space available behind the south side curb line, this is not possible for the south side residents.
In addition, concrete driveway approaches and sidewalks are to be constructed. The schedule for these activities is currently being discussed with the contractor. Residents may experience some inconvenience during these operations, again due to the necessary concrete curing time.
As needed, we will gladly assist residents who require driveway access due to unexpected issues that may arise during the curing of the concrete. As always, emergency vehicles will continue to have immediate access to residences.
