Background

On Tuesday morning, June 3, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., the Washtenaw County Road Commission will impose a TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE beneath the viaduct on Dexter-Pinckney Road to replace a failed storm sewer. The storm sewer is located on the borders of Scio and Webster Townships, between Dexter-Chelsea Road in Section 6 of Scio Township, and Island Lake Road in Section 31 of Webster Township.

The deterioration of this storm sewer and recommended closure for its immediate replacement was determined during a routine inspection. This temporary road closure will remain in effect for approximately one (1) day, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., until the storm sewer replacement is completed.

Additional restoration work may continue the following day, which may result in temporary delays and lane closures; however, the road will remain open with flagger control. The recommended DETOUR for this temporary road closure is Dexter-Pinckney Road to North Territorial Road to Mast Road.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as the agency completes this required road maintenance.
