Background
On Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2008 the Washtenaw County Road Commission closed Liberty Road between Honey Run Drive and Stags Leap Lane in Scio Township at the request of the Scio Township Fire Department, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department and the Washtenaw County Hazardous Materials Response Team due to an apparent hazardous materials spill. On Thursday morning, August 7, 2008 the Washtenaw County Road Commission received authorization to re-open this stretch of roadway to the traveling public as the clean up has been completed.
