Background
Beginning on Monday, August 18, 2008, crews will remove the existing bridge on Liberty Road over the Haas Drain, located between Steinbach Road and Dancer Road in Lima Township. The current short-span bridge will be replaced with a 24’ by 24’ timber bridge.
It is anticipated that the timber test piles will be installed either the week of August 25th or September 1st. Delivery of the new bridge is expected in late September.
On July 10, 2007, the Washtenaw County Road Commission CLOSED the Liberty Road Bridge over Haas Drain due to severe deterioration and structural failure of the abutments (foundation).
The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
