What: Speed Limit Change
When: The week beginning Monday, September 22, 2008
Where: Golfside Road, from Ellsworth Road to Clark Road in Ypsilanti and Pittsfield Townships
Why: To comply with Michigan State Law
Background
Beginning the week of September 22, 2008, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will be changing the speed limit on Golfside Road, from Ellsworth Road to Washtenaw Avenue (M-17) to 40 mph and from Washtenaw Avenue (M-17) to Clark Road to 45 mph in Ypsilanti and Pittsfield Townships, to comply with Michigan State law.
The roadway will also contain a reduced speed of 25 mph within the school zone of Fortis Academy just north of Ellsworth Road during the posted hours on school days only. It is anticipated that all the appropriate signage will be in place by Friday, September 26, 2008. However, please be advised that due to weather and other unforeseen conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.
