What: Road Closure

When: From Tuesday, December 16, 2008 through Friday, December 19, 2008

Where: Eastbound Ellsworth Road, from Hewitt Road to Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti Township

Why: Traffic Signal Construction at Michigan Avenue and Ellsworth Road

Background

Beginning at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will impose a ROAD CLOSURE on Eastbound Ellsworth Road, from Hewitt Road to Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti Township, to reconstruct the traffic signal steel mast arms at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Ellsworth Road.

This section of Ellsworth Road will remain open to local traffic only. Therefore, motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. Detour signs will be posted for the duration of this project. Traffic will be detoured back to Ellsworth Road via Hewitt Road and Michigan Avenue. Westbound Ellsworth Road will remain open between Michigan Avenue and Hewitt Road.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed and all lanes will be reopened to traffic by approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through work zones. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
