What: Road Closure on Segment of Munger Road

When: Beginning Wednesday, January 2, 2008 through Friday, January 25, 2008

Where: Munger Road, between Textile Road and Merritt Road, in Pittsfield and Ypsilanti Townships

Why: Sanitary Sewer Installation

Background

Beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 2, 2008, the York Township Utilities, with the approval of the Washtenaw County Road Commission, will impose a ROAD CLOSURE on Munger Road, between Textile Road and Merritt Road, in Pittsfield and Ypsilanti Townships. The purpose for the road closure is to install a sanitary sewer within the right-of-way of this segment of county road.

Due to the extensive construction required for this utility project, approximately 500-FEET of Munger Road, directly south of Textile Road to Breckenridge Drive, WILL BE COMPLETELY CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC.

However, the short segment of Munger Road, directly north of Breckinridge Drive to Merritt Road WILL REMAIN OPEN TO LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY to allow for resident access. Therefore, motorists who utilize Munger Road are advised to seek an alternate route. A posted detour will be in effect for the duration of this project. This posted detour route will utilize the county roads of Textile, Carpenter and Merritt.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed and all lanes will be reopened to traffic by approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
