What: Road Segment Temporarily Closed
When: Beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2007, through 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2007
Where: On Emerson Avenue, between Lakeview Avenue and William Avenue, in Ypsilanti Township
Why: To Allow for Public Utility Construction
Background
At approximately 8:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 29, 2007, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will CLOSE TO ALL TRAFFIC a road segment of approximately 100 feet on Emerson Avenue, between Lakeview Avenue and William Avenue, in Ypsilanti Township, to allow for the completion of public utility construction. This road segment closure is located approximately 500 feet north of the Lakeview Avenue intersection.
Residents to the north of the closure will be able to access Emerson Avenue from William Avenue; residents to the south of the closure can access Emerson Avenue from Lakeview Avenue. ALL NON-LOCAL TRAFFIC IS ADVISED TO SEEK AN ALTERNATE ROUTE.
It is anticipated that this utility work will be completed and Emerson Avenue will be REOPENED to traffic by approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2007. However, due to weather conditions, please be advised that all dates are tentative and subject to change.
To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through work zones! The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
