What: Wagner Road - Grinding Operation

When: Thursday, November 8, 2007

Where: Wagner Road, between Liberty Road and Jackson Road in Scio Township

Why: Concrete Pavement Surface Corrections

Background

The Washtenaw County Road Commission has scheduled a pavement surface grinding operation on Wagner Road between Liberty Road and Jackson Road for Thursday, November 8, 2007. This grinding operation is expected to take one (1) day.

Just prior to the reopening of Wagner Road to southbound traffic on September 15, 2007, ride quality data was collected on the newly constructed concrete pavement surface. This data was analyzed and compared to field conditions. Based on this, minor areas that do not meet the project specifications will be corrected (smoothed) by diamond grinding.

The grinding operation will include the use of two traffic regulators (flaggers) to assure the safety of both motorists and the construction crew. The work will be performed as a moving operation and traffic will be maintained. Intermittent traffic delays are possible as the operation progresses along Wagner Road.

To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone.

The Road Commission appreciates the patience of area motorists, businesses and residents during this road improvement project. We are confident that the inconvenience caused by this reconstruction will be compensated for by the long-term improvement to this link in the transportation network.
