Background
Beginning on Monday, October 1, 2007 (Tentative Start Date), the Washtenaw County Road Commission will establish LANE RESTRICTIONS on OLD US-12, between M-52 (Main Street) and Gene Drive in the City of Chelsea, Sylvan Township, for the resurfacing of Old US-12 and related work.
One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained during construction activities, with intermittent traffic delays occurring. The lane restrictions will remain in place throughout the project, scheduled for completion in November.
Access for residents and business owners within the construction zone will be maintained. Residents and business owners will be contacted regarding activities that may temporarily limit driveway access, such as concrete curb and gutter repairs.
To maintain the safety of road crews, please drive cautiously through the work zone. A temporary construction speed limit of 35 MPH will also be established.
The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
