What: Carpenter Road Reconstruction
When: Beginning Thursday, August 23, 2007
Where: Carpenter Road - North, (south of Michigan Avenue (US-12) in Pittsfield Township)
Why: Concrete Paving Schedule / Flagging Operations / Traffic Delays
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission has scheduled the start of concrete paving on Carpenter Road for Thursday, August 23, 2007, weather permitting. This roadway paving operation is expected to take two (2) days.
Motorists will note paving both north and south of the Michigan Avenue (US-12) intersection. The paving activities will require intermittent daytime lane closures. Two-way traffic will be maintained under a flagging operation. Access for residents and businesses along Carpenter Road will be maintained. HOWEVER, MOTORISTS USING CARPENTER ROAD AS A THROUGH ROUTE SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER AN ALTERNATE ROUTE.
To maintain the safety of road crews, please continue to reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone! The posted speed limit within the project limits has been reduced to 35 mph. We are continuing to coordinate our work with area law enforcement agencies to assure the safety of the road crews and motorists.
