What: Road Closure

When: From July 17, 2007 through September 14, 2007

Where: Munger Road, from Textile Road to Michigan Avenue (US-12) in Pittsfield and Ypsilanti Townships

Why: Sanitary Sewer Repair

Background

Beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will impose a ROAD CLOSURE on Munger Road, from Textile Road to Michigan Avenue (US-12) in Pittsfield and Ypsilanti Townships to make repairs to the existing sanitary sewer and relocate a short section of the sewer system within the right-of-way of this road segment.

A section of Munger Road, from just north of Morgan Road to Textile Road, will remain open to local traffic only. Therefore, motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Detour signs will be posted for the duration of this project. Traffic will be detoured onto Crane Road via Textile Road and Michigan Avenue (US-12). A 200-foot section of Munger Road just south of Michigan Avenue (US-12) will be closed to all traffic to accommodate this utility work.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed and all lanes will be reopened to traffic by approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2007. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through work zones! The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
