What: Carpenter Road Closure - Southbound (SB) Traffic

When: Monday, June 25, 2007

Where: SB Carpenter Road, between Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Textile Road, in Pittsfield Township

Why: Reconstruction and widening project

Background

Beginning Monday, June 25, 2007, the Washtenaw County Road Commission will impose a SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC CLOSURE on Carpenter Road, between Michigan Avenue (US-12) and Textile Road, in Pittsfield Township, for the reconstruction and widening of this road segment.

The northbound lane of Carpenter Road will remain open to traffic.  Intermittent lane closures are expected.  Therefore, motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.  Detour signs will be posted for the duration of this project. Traffic will be detoured onto US-12 to Crane Road to Textile Road.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed and all lanes will be reopened to traffic by June 2008.  However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through work zones. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
