When: From Monday, June 4, 2007 through the end of September 2007

Where: Signalized intersections along Ellsworth Road from Michigan Avenue to Platt Road and Hewitt Road from Michigan Avenue to Clark Road in Ypsilanti and Pittsfield Townships

Why: Traffic signal modernization and interconnection

Background

Beginning at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2007, intermittent lane closures will begin on Ellsworth Road from Michigan Avenue to Platt Road and Hewitt Road from Michigan Avenue to Clark Road in Ypsilanti and Pittsfield Townships, to upgrade and interconnect the traffic signals.

These sections of roadway will remain open with temporary lane closures during the day. Therefore, motorists are advised to expect delays and encouraged to seek an alternate route.

It is anticipated that this project will be completed by the end of September 2007. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.

To maintain the safety of road crews, please reduce speeds and drive cautiously through work zones. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as these necessary improvements to the county road system are completed.
