What: Wagner Road Reconstruction
When: Beginning Wednesday, May 16, 2007
Where: Wagner Road between Liberty Road and Jackson Road in Scio Township
Why: Concrete Paving, Impending Closure (Jackson Plaza), Traffic Delays
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission has tentatively scheduled the start of concrete paving on the west half of Wagner Road for Thursday, May 17, 2007. The paving work is expected to take two days.
In preparation for the paving, Jackson Plaza will be closed at Wagner Road on Wednesday, May 16. This closure will remain in place for approximately five to seven days to allow curing of the newly paved concrete lane.
Northbound Wagner Road, between Liberty Road and Jackson Road, will remain open during the concrete paving. However, the operations involved in the concrete paving, including the transport and unloading of concrete, will result in intermittent delays. Motorists using Wagner Road to access Jackson Road should strongly consider seeking an alternate route. Access for residents and the businesses along Wagner Road will be maintained.
It will be necessary for many of the businesses along the west side of Wagner Road to temporarily share driveways during the concrete paving and curing of the newly paved lane.
To maintain the safety of road crews, please continue to reduce speeds and drive cautiously through the work zone. The posted speed limit within the project limits has been reduced to 25 mph. We are continuing to coordinate our work with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department to assure the safety of the road crews and motorists. The Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as we continue our improvements on Wagner Road.
