It’s Paving Time!

By August 23, 2018Uncategorized

We are getting closer to the finish line on this project, check out the drone photo below to see all the progress we have made over the past month.

On Monday, August 27, 2018, our contractor will begin asphalt paving on Harris Road between Michigan Avenue and Holmes Road. We will be placing three layers of asphalt, the first two layers, also known as the “base” and “leveling course” will be placed next week.

After those layers have been placed, we have some additional non-asphalt work to complete before we can come in with the final, “top course” of asphalt. We will send out another email update before we apply this last layer.Once we have completed the last layer of asphalt, our contractor will then install pavement markings, completing our road work.

During paving, residents and property owners, who live or work internal to the project limits, will be provided access to their home or business but drivers should expect delays. We expect all work to be completed by mid-September. However, as with all construction, exact dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

If you have any questions, please contact Matt MacDonell, project manager at macdonellm@wcroads.org or (734) 327- 6688 with any questions.

Thank you again for your patience!
