Subdivisions

The Road Commission is responsible for administering the public road development in Washtenaw County. This includes the technical review of plans and issuance of permits in conformance with procedures and regulations, construction inspection, and processing of road acceptances into the county road system.

The Road Commission is also responsible for maintaining the Public Road Certification Maps and providing information to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in order to determine the annual funding allocation the Road Commission will receive from the Michigan Transportation Fund (MTF).
